Holiday Inn & Suites Puerto Vallarta Marina & Golf by IHG

The pool terrace was beautiful and a great place to unwind, and our room was very comfortable. We had a very good stay at the Holiday Inn in Puerto Vallarta. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. The only downside was nearby construction. You can hear the noise from the pool.

The location is handy for walking to the airport and marina, and the rooms were comfortable with a good breakfast. The administrative side let me down, though. I was told my receipt would be emailed, but it never arrived. After contacting corporate, I finally got it, but it didn't include a proper breakdown of taxes and daily rates. If you need a detailed invoice for business travel, ask for a printed copy or expect to follow up.

Great rooms, but I wouldn't stay here again. I checked in for several nights and, within an hour, told the hotel that an emergency meant I had to leave the next morning. After long discussions with the manager and general manager, they agreed to lower the early checkout fee and confirmed a refund would be issued. Nothing was refunded, and my follow-ups have gone unanswered for almost two weeks. I was also charged significantly more in person than the rate on the hotel's website. When I raised it with the lobby, they said there was nothing they could do. The whole experience was frustrating from start to finish, with poor transparency, inconsistent pricing, and a refund promise that wasn't fulfilled.

The jacuzzi still has no bubbles, and the water runs too hot. It was the same two years ago, so it hasn't worked properly for years. Some lounge chairs and umbrellas need repair, and that creates an unsafe condition. On the second-floor pool deck, too much time is spent cleaning the cement floors.
