Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

We loved the morning activities, especially the 8:30 AM yoga, 11:00 AM SUP yoga, and water aerobics. The kayak and Hobie Cat tours were fantastic, and the beach team made us feel safe and well looked after. The Entertainment Team, Jimmy, Noe, Ivan, Francisco, Eliana, Joel, Tere, and new team member Aidee, made the activities fun and welcoming. Gilberto at the swim-up bar on the Secrets side deserves a special mention for his excellent service. Across the resort, staff were caring, friendly, and attentive. The property was clean and well organized, with beautiful ocean views from every room. We also really enjoyed the food, with three good meals a day and plenty of choice between à la carte restaurants and buffets. Our stay at Dreams & Secrets Vallarta Bay in Puerto Vallarta was a memorable one, and we’d happily recommend the resort for a relaxing, high-quality vacation. Five stars from us.

The food was delicious, and we mostly ate at the buffet. There were different activities each day, and the staff were friendly and professional. Yalepi was our concierge while we stayed in the Penthouse at Dreams. She made sure we had everything we needed and then some. Thank you, Yalepi! Luciana at reception was also especially helpful and professional, and the staff overall were wonderful. I also found some beautiful silver jewelry from Omar, one of the beach vendors. We had a great time and would love to return someday.

We spent three nights in a preferred suite in December. Check-in was smooth, and our room was ready before the usual time. This is a smaller property, especially for families with kids, and there aren’t many lunch choices: the regular buffet, a seafood restaurant oddly called Mediterranean, and an outdoor grill serving burgers and hot dogs. The best meals for us were at the Mexican and Asian restaurants. Cesar at the Mexican restaurant was the only person who gave us outstanding service. The main problem was how often service simply didn’t happen. We couldn’t get room service or even a soda at the buffet. For two days running, we asked for soda and a glass of water at the buffet and got neither. It was quite clear that servers there treated people differently based on skin color, with guests who arrived after us being served more quickly and better. Our minibar wasn’t refilled for the last two days, and calls for service were repeatedly ignored. There are only a limited number of beach chairs, and by about 9 AM they’re all claimed with towels. Unless someone gets up early each day to save one, you’re out of luck. The suite’s only extra service for us was upgraded liquor, so I wouldn’t pay more for a preferred suite.

A lovely short trip, with comfortable, spacious rooms and terrific food choices. Since nearly everyone was tipping, we did too, and with all the poolside drinks that added a bit to the cost. One odd thing: the room wasn’t refreshed unless we asked the concierge or front desk to send someone. Other guests had the same issue. Once we asked, though, the service was good.
