Ixaya Hotel

It’s a small, clean, quaint place with a great location, a bit like a European pension. The room AC worked perfectly, and the Wi-Fi was excellent. There’s no elevator, but the one flight of stairs is easy to manage, with low steps. They take US currency or pesos. English is limited, though the staff use their phones to translate and are on the ball. There’s a shared refrigerator, so I’d bring a collapsible cooler for drinks and food. I’d recommend it.

The front desk staff were so helpful and really went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. It’s budget-friendly for how close it is to everything: the Centro, Marina Vallarta, lots of restaurants, and plenty of grocery and convenience stores. Great hotel and customer service. Highly recommended!

I had a bad experience. The room was much smaller than the photos suggested and smelled damp. When I complained, they couldn’t help and canceled my booking at 11 pm, leaving me on the street by myself 🫥. The one humane thing they did was not charge a cancellation fee. Definitely don’t recommend.

For the price, the location is great. It’s a new property, and the owners are willing to go the extra mile. The rooms with balconies get traffic noise, but Alex is working on installing better soundproof windows. There’s off-street parking, and they’re planning to open a restaurant downstairs soon. Recommended.
