The view is nice, but the hotel needs a lot of maintenance. The pool was dirty, the hot tub rusty, and the bathrooms smelled so strongly of drains that we couldn't sleep. Our room smelled dirty too, and the old sheets were stained. There's no restaurant, so you have to go elsewhere for food. I've stayed in better places for less.

As of early APRIL, the whole hotel was being renovated. Staff were friendly and helped us move to another hotel in Puerto Vallarta. The rooms that were available were large and well kept, but construction left very little parking, and the elevator down six floors to the swimming pool didn't work. The jacuzzi was empty, wifi only worked at reception, and the TV got local channels only. It could be a great hotel in a few months.

The balcony view was magnificent, but the "hotel" was in bad shape all over, from the lobby and stairs to the room. The pool was dirty and closed. It was so hard to spend even one day there that I had to book somewhere else.

We were charged too much, and the two men, Jose and Srgio, acted like they didn't speak English or Spanish. There were no ceiling fans or extra fans, and my room stayed over 85 degrees for all three days. When I asked for a clean sheet, the one I got had mildew stains and smelled like a homeless shelter. There wasn't enough water to shower, so I had to rent a $40 room in PV to wash before my flight home. I've had better accommodations when I was homeless.

It's quiet, right in the jungle, with an amazing view and birds singing all the time. This is a great spot if you like being away from the cities. Mar Sereno needs some work and better management, which is why I gave it 3-5. Hope this helps you guys.
