The personalized attention each guest gets impressed me most. The decor, accommodation, and customer service are all excellent, and the place has Vallarta’s warmth and energy. It’s right by the beach, with lots of food options and a short walk to the city center. You get everything you want or need in Vallarta in one place. The best hostal in Puerto Vallarta, I totally recommend it.

The González family made me feel at home, sharing stories over coffee, offering local recommendations, and helping with transportation. Their hospitality feels heartfelt and genuine. It’s a short walk to local markets, restaurants, and beaches, while still tucked away enough for some peace and quiet. The common areas are good for meeting other travelers or relaxing after exploring. My room was spotless, decorated with traditional touches, and felt personal and inviting. The whole hostel has a calm, cared-for feel, with a warm, colorful charm that reflects Mexico’s culture. Hostal Los González felt welcoming from the moment I arrived, almost like family. I’ve stayed in many places around Mexico, and I’ll come back here again and again. It’s an experience and a memory that stays with you. Highly recommended!

It’s a half-hour walk to El Malecón, with food spots and stores for all kinds of budgets nearby. The hostel is new, so everything feels new, and it’s very comfortable with lovely decor. The staff are friendly and respectful, and make sure you have a pleasant stay. We had a payment issue, and they handled it really well. We also had fun talking with them, and they suggested restaurants and bars based on what we like. I hope they keep being such good hosts!

It’s affordable, at $20-$50 a night, and there’s a shared kitchen and dining room. The location is handy too, within walking distance of good restaurants and convenience stores. The workers are kind and helpful, and they have clean private rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

On my first night, I got a private room on the fourth floor by myself. There’s no elevator, but the balcony views were amazing and worth the climb. The fan had five settings, and the shower was great, with clean hot water coming quickly. It was a great stay. The next day, they held my luggage while I waited for my girlfriend’s flight so we could catch a bus. Her flight was delayed and we missed the last bus, so I asked the employee/owner if we could stay another night and leave at sunrise. After looking into it, they said yes, but the extra night would cost 130% of the first night’s fee. I assumed that was because I told Sam there’d be an extra person, so I was okay with it. When my girlfriend arrived, they knocked and said there was another extra-person fee. That made the total double the first night’s cost, a 200% increase. The new room was on the ground floor, with no balcony and a window facing a wall. It was filthy, with a dirty bathroom, spiders and spider food, no shower curtain so water ran into the bedroom, and a jammed window shade that wouldn’t move. I paid twice as much for a tenth of what I’d gotten the first night. I was so angry that they kept raising the price that I didn’t complain about the dirt. We kept our clothes on, pulled back the comforter, and slept on the sheets until sunrise, then left and won’t return. The End.
