Hotel Marlyn Downtown

We spotted an ad for the buffet while walking one day and tried it this morning. Wow, A+! There was a nice spread: pancakes with butter and syrup, eggs, chilis, beans, pork bean chili, cantaloupe, coffee, sauce, cereal, and juices. The one gal running it all did the work of five people. The tables were clean, used dishes were cleared promptly, and the food was well stocked, clean, and kept at the right hot or cold temperature. Highly recommend. We'd go back.

I paid 110 pesos, about $5.50 USD, for the buffet breakfast. It was busy, with only one server working the tables. I sat down expecting her to ask whether I wanted coffee or juice, but she never came over. When I got up to ask about coffee, tea, or juice, she pointed me to the buffet. I asked for decaf or tea, but they only had coffee and orange juice. Most of the trays were nearly empty, including the fruit, and it took a while to refill them. The food disappeared as soon as it came out. Some of it was tasty, but I'd give breakfast a 3.5. I won't be back since other places serve a good breakfast for a little more money.

We come back to this place whenever we're in Puerto Vallarta. The rooms are really clean, housekeeping is lovely, and the staff are friendly and professional.

The beach is right next door, which made our overnight stay great. The place was neat and clean, and even the four-person room felt bigger than usual. Marlyn, thanks for a really nice stay!
