Hotel & Suites Coral

A good price, friendly management, and old time Vallarta charm. Hotele y Suites Coral Internacional is a fine old school Mexican posada, with a pool, AC, and a good location.

Jose was a nice Manager, but reluctant to enforce quiet hours with other guests, which made it harder to get any sleep. The bigger problem was loud music from an "Event Centre" two doors away, with parties going until 5 a.m. That led us to leave three days early and book somewhere else. Jose, Stella, and Fernanda were all very nice, and the towels and bedding were changed regularly. But the room was very dirty: the floor, shelves, and counters, plus a big pile of cigarette ashes in the side table drawer. I wonder how long it’ll take them to notice. The pool was dirty too, and nobody ever swam in it. If you don’t care about good sleep or clean rooms, it may be good value. Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere. Ric and Judit Calgary, Canada

My in-laws had visited more than 20 years ago, and we enjoyed the place just as much. The staff and managers were very efficient, our accommodations were top notch, and we liked the pool in the private garden.

Less than half a star. We booked ahead and thought we’d paid by credit card, but when we arrived they said we hadn’t and needed to pay at check-in. Blah, too much hassle. There was also a dead cockroach in the fridge.
