The location by the river is great, and it works especially well if you need to work remotely in PV. The Wi-Fi is excellent, and the large upstairs workspace is well equipped. My bed was very comfortable, and the basic rooms are still nice for the price. I liked getting a complimentary bar drink at check-in, and Uli gave me a very nice haircut. The gym has decent equipment, though it needs some TLC. The hot tub was out of service, which was disappointing. There’s also nonstop beeping from things like the locks and water container, even in the early hours. They should turn those sounds off. A small fridge downstairs near the water and microwave would help, too, instead of having one only upstairs in the coworking area.

My girlfriend and I had a horrible experience with the woman I believe works the morning front desk. Aldo, who is transgender, was really nice and helpful. The morning staff member was extremely rude and overbearing, and even canceled our reservation. On a very hot day, with all our luggage, we had to walk around looking for another hotel despite already having a booking. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Joint Boutique Hotel is right in the middle of Zona Romántica, close to the nightlife, restaurants, and bars, and the beach is an easy ten-minute walk away. The Puerto Vallarta airport is only about a 30-minute ride by Uber or bus. If you want to stay near the action in Puerto Vallarta, this place is a gem.

We paid $1400 USD for a suite, but it was basically just a slightly bigger room, and parking cost another $40 USD for an unguarded lot. The room was dirty when we arrived, the towels were dirty too, and it took two days to get clean ones. No one cleaned the room, and the water dispensers stayed empty for three days. The staff were unpleasant and didn’t fix even simple issues. I’ve traveled in Mexico for seven years, and this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. A disgrace.
