We love La Terraza Inn! It’s a quiet, cute, authentic little oasis in the Romantic Zone, close enough to downtown but away from the bustle. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, with air conditioning and big terraces right outside. The beach is just one block away. Everything is incredibly clean and well kept, from the immaculate landscaping to the plunge pool, which is great after a day at the beach. Freddy, his partner, and the staff do a wonderful job. The host is quick and easy to communicate with, and the small breakfast restaurant downstairs makes delicious food. 1000% recommend, and I can’t wait to stay there again.

We stayed in unit 5 and had a great experience. The owners and team were so nice and always available, and the included coffee was delicious. Filtered water was provided too. The unit had two large beds with firm mattresses, a kitchenette with a huge fridge and four burners, a separate bathroom and shower area, and a TV with English Netflix. It faced the street, with a partial ocean view from the patio, which had two comfortable chairs and a table. The hotel was very clean and felt safe. The website photos were accurate, and I’d highly recommend it and book again. The pool is small, but perfect for a dip or reading on a hot day. The beach is only half a block away on foot.

The inn is run by a lovely family, and our room was clean, cozy, and gorgeous. The service was warm and accommodating. There was last-minute maintenance in the room we’d booked, so they moved us to a larger one at no extra charge. It’s very close to the beach, yet set far enough back that nightlife noise doesn’t reach the rooms. Zona Romantica’s center is an easy walk, and taxis are easy to get if needed. I’d happily stay here again if I’m back in PVR.

La Terraza is a relaxed, comfortable place with genuine character, and I’d gladly stay again. It isn’t a flashy all-inclusive five-star resort, and that’s not what it’s trying to be. The rooms are practical, with kitchenettes and refrigerators, which was especially handy for longer stays and easy mornings. Although restaurants, beaches, and activities are nearby, it’s surprisingly quiet at night. You can walk to several beaches and explore different parts of Puerto Vallarta from here. The traditional Mexican style gives the property a warm, authentic feel. At check-in you get actual metal keys, not a keycard. The iron entrance gate stays locked and opens with a key. There’s no guard, and there doesn’t need to be. The rooms, courtyard, and pool area were all spotless and well cared for. The small pool is charming and good for a dip without the bustle of a big resort pool. The staff were consistently welcoming, kind, and helpful, and clearly take pride in the place. Go downstairs to The Porch for breakfast. Amazing. One thing to plan for: there’s no elevator, and some rooms mean climbing several steep staircases, so that could be difficult if you have mobility concerns.

I love the rooftop terrace for coffee in the morning and sunset views. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. It’s near everything but still quiet and relaxing, so this has become my usual place to stay in Puerto Vallarta.
