The pool was a real highlight, and this bright, cheerful little hotel has loads of character. It’s right off the Malecon, so the location is hard to beat. The cleaning staff and front desk were great, and Enrique was wonderful too. The small pool was fabulous, though it would be nice if it stayed open later. The food was tasty, but restaurant service could use some work. The shower pressure was awful, but we never mentioned it, and I’m sure they would’ve sorted it out if we had. We’d definitely come back. Also, check out taco taxi on the street by the hotel!

Fabiola at the front desk, Luz from housekeeping, and the kitchen staff, whose names I unfortunately didn’t get, made our stay feel personal and went out of their way to make us welcome. The staff are amazing. I’ll keep booking this hotel for years to come.

The loft-style room worked really well for my wife, son, and me, and the staff were wonderful. It’s right off the Malecon, too. The beds were hard and stiff, though, and I woke up with back and hip pain. Still, it was worth it and a great experience.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and having a nice restaurant with tables by the pool was convenient. The room itself was okay, with a nice little kitchen, but the layout felt awkward. The bedding was hard and uncomfortable, so I didn’t sleep well. There was construction going on in front of the hotel, and it’s a long walk to the Old Vallarta area. Hot water came and went, the WiFi never worked, and there weren’t any lamps in the room, which was odd.

The hotel was spotless, including the pool and lounge area, and they clearly take cleanliness seriously. I also had a slow shower drain, messaged the front desk, and someone came to fix it within five minutes. The breakfast with the booking cost extra. It came with tasty seasoned scrambled eggs, toast, jam, butter, coffee, and a choice of juice or fresh fruit. The portion wasn’t big, but it was delicious. If breakfast wasn’t included, you could order from the menu at the poolside restaurant, usually open 8 am to 8 pm, with earlier closing on Wednesdays and Sundays. Free coffee was available in the sitting area from 6:00 am to 9:00 am. I was satisfied with the Loft Hotel, though at first I was disappointed. I’d booked a “Business Studio Suite – 1 Bedroom with Kitchenette” and assumed that meant a separate bedroom. The room wasn’t tiny, but I’d expected more space. I adjusted and got comfortable soon enough. Room 130 had good air conditioning, an adequate kitchenette, a small balcony overlooking a side street, and a large TV. Two single beds had been pushed together as a king. My main complaint was the poor showerhead, especially for such a nice-looking place. Other rooms had lovely rainfall showerheads. There was also nowhere to set personal things by the sink, so we put our medication, shampoo, soap, and other items in the kitchenette. The location is close to the water, about a minute’s walk from the Malecon, and there’s a nice grocery store about five minutes to the right when leaving the hotel. Guests got wristbands at check-in, which made it easy for staff to identify them. The hotel seemed protective of the property and felt secure, with someone watching the entrance in addition to the front desk clerk. There’s an elevator from the lobby to the first floor, but some rooms on that level still require climbing a few stairs. If stairs are a problem, ask for a room on the floor the elevator reaches. It would’ve helped to have an English information sheet for guests who don’t speak Spanish. I know it’s my responsibility to understand things as a guest in another country, but it would be fairly easy to provide one for first-time visitors. All in all, not a bad place. I’d stay again.
