The rooftop pool is beautiful, the gym is well equipped, and the facilities feel secure. Oceana Vallarta is modern, spacious, and has breathtaking views, with a comfortable, luxurious feel for short or long stays. It’s right in the heart of the Zona Romántica, steps from the beach, top restaurants, and local attractions, while still feeling peaceful and private. The staff and management are friendly and attentive, which made our stay smooth and enjoyable. A high-end option in a great Puerto Vallarta location.

You can walk to just about everything from here, with restaurants, galleries, boutiques, shopping, and drinks right nearby, and the beach is an easy walk too. After a day out, it’s easy to come back for a swim or a soak in the jacuzzi, then head out again for dinner or the club. The rooftop pool has some of the best views I’ve seen, wide open across the ocean and mountains. The building is still being built, but the units already look thoughtfully designed, with high-end details. It’s on one of the nicest streets around, so I think it’s going to be amazing.

For around 400 pesos we got five beers, three marlin tacos, chips and salsa, plus live entertainment, all right on the beach. Before that, we made the mistake of trying Zoo Bar. The waiter wouldn’t bring a menu and instead pushed a drink I hadn’t asked for. Then the bill was 320 pesos, about $16 U.S., for two margaritas, one of them watered down. Overpriced, and/or they overcharged us.

If you’re renting, the condo rules can make having friends visit the pool a constant source of stress and nagging. I’d stay at Pier57 or somewhere else that welcomes renters.
