I had a day pass that my brother, who was staying there, bought for me. I had a great time until it was time to leave. The rooms were beautiful and the staff were great, but leaving turned into a BAD EXPERIENCE. The manager was HECTOR PULIDO. The bartenders stopped serving me at 5pm. I’d picked up a drink at 4:50pm, had it by the pool, and finished it around 5:45pm. Then I went to my brother’s room to get my bag. At 6:15pm I went downstairs for my ID at the front desk so I could get a taxi. HECTOR PULIDO scolded me for not leaving at 5pm. He was extremely rude and disrespectful, and said my husband’s and my passes for the next day would be cancelled. I tried calling to complain, but everyone I spoke to said I couldn’t contact anyone above him. I own a business in the USA. Please have someone get in touch with me about this bad experience. I’m not going to let it go until it’s addressed.

The pool was the highlight, and the food was perfect. It’s an excellent adults-only stay, very safe and clean. Omar was so professional and made our pool time excellent, thank you! Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without him. We highly recommend Secrets. By the pool, the Tuna Tar-Tar and ceviche snacks are worth trying :)

My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding ceremony here, and it was perfect. The staff took such good care of us wherever we were around the property, and the food and service were great. Our room was beautiful and had a swim-out pool. The resort grounds are beautiful too, and it’s conveniently located from the airport. ❤️

Our honeymoon stay at Secrets was excellent, thanks in large part to the people who looked after us. Caesar, our waiter at the market café buffet, always greeted us with smiles, laughs, and entertainment, and gave us daily tips for getting around the local area. Our seasoned, well-educated Butler, Jose Becerra, was always smiling and asking how he could help make our experience amazing. He opened doors for us, texted each morning with the resort activities, and was such a kind face to see every day. On our last night, we were excited to go to rhythms of the night, but the excursion was canceled. We only found out after we’d left for the port by Uber, so we came back disappointed. Jose saw us and asked what happened, then quickly got us a spot in the French restaurant’s wine room. The service there was fantastic, and they spoiled us with honeymoon extras. Jose made sure our stay was memorable. Thank you, Secrets, for hiring such fabulous staff and for being our honeymoon destination.

The rooms are beautiful, though a little dated, the food is great, and there are plenty of towels and lounge chairs, so there’s no fight to get one. The beach is close to the pools, and there are always chairs to sit in. The French restaurant is delicious. The workers are doing very well with what they have, which seems to be very little. The property itself is beautiful, and the staff are great, but I’ve been spoiled by other Secrets properties and have some beefs. The main issue is the activities and entertainment. If you expect the same quality as the other resorts, you’ll be badly disappointed. I brought friends here promising great shows and activities, but they were nowhere to be found. There’s no theater or performance space. The closest is a concrete bowl on the Dreams side with a slightly raised concrete stage. The pre-Hispanic show gave no explanation of what was happening or why, and had no MC to keep it moving. The “fire show” was in the motor entrance, basically the driveway, with a speaker and a couple of lights. There’s no live music by the pool. The silent disco was set up in an active part of the lobby on a 12-by-12-foot dance floor. The tree-lighting was mostly a big fake switch, a little music, and entertainment staff dancing as elves. They were sweet and friendly, but it’s nothing like Playa Mujeres, Costa Blanca, or Cap Cana. No wine and painting, no craft work. The small entertainment team is stretched thin and doing its best. The tennis court looks neglected, like an inner-city court. No bike tours either. The spa is beautiful, but the staff mumbled through the instructions, and the hydrotherapy pools were freezing, apart from the jacuzzi. I’m on day 4, and we’ve had to leave the property to find fun things to do. Even staff said we could get a better massage for about one-third the price at a business across the street. Why did I pay nearly 50% more for this trip when I get 50% less? They should build a new one, turn this space into a Dreams, and maybe then there’d be room for theaters.
