The five-minute walk to the Romantic Zone puts you near great restaurants, shops, and culture, while the property itself feels like a five-star resort. The rooftop pool is breathtaking, with pristine design and views that make it easy to see why it’s voted the #1 rooftop pool in all of Puerto Vallarta. We were incredibly fortunate to stay at Edward’s place at SOHO PV. Edward was exceptionally accommodating, attentive without being intrusive, and we always had what we needed. The décor was stunning and carefully curated. We’d read noise concerns in a few reviews, so brought a Bose speaker and box-fan background noise. We slept flawlessly every night, with no issues at all. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely kind, and handled every detail with care. We’re deeply grateful and will absolutely be back. Highly recommended. Keith Hager Snohomish, Washington

The concierge made a big difference. They checked in regularly, responded quickly to texts, and took great care of us during a period of unrest in Mexico, making sure we had everything we needed through an uncertain time. The building is beautiful and high-end, with a great entrance, gym, pool, and amenities. Cleaning staff were around the property, and everything was very well maintained. It sits on the outskirts of town, which made it very walkable, though the road is busy and there was some traffic noise. We mention it since it comes up in other reviews and worried us before booking. We noticed it at times during the day, but it didn’t take away from the experience and was easy to deal with. We slept perfectly and heard nothing in the bedroom at night.

The rooftop pool at SoHo Rooftop Pool (Puerto Vallarta) has stunning views and a relaxed, chill vibe with good music. The infinity pool blending into the ocean is genuinely beautiful. That’s the real draw. The place could be iconic, and I honestly feel bad for the owner: it’s clear someone put serious money and heart into something special. But after five visits over my 10-day stay in a SoHo apartment, this was my third rooftop visit, and the experience has been overpriced mediocrity with careless service. My partner and I usually spend a normal amount over 2-3 hours, 4 cocktails and 2 dishes. The food is so dry it gets stuck in your throat. I paid around $15 USD for a “salad” that was basically dry chicken and lettuce leaves, no seasoning or dressing. Same story with the sandwich and burger. The message feels clear: you’re not here to eat. A “signature” cocktail costs $22 USD, but the quality is bottom-tier: watery and bland, only cold because there’s so much ice you can’t taste anything else. Maybe that’s supposed to wash down the dry chicken. Staffing changes day to day, but service is consistently slow and careless. Need a towel? You can stand waiting 10 minutes while someone looks like they’d rather be anywhere else. Waiters repeatedly forget orders. Cocktails take 15-20 minutes, even when half the loungers are empty. There’s too much hanging around the bar and laughing loudly, and not enough actual service. The staff often act like they don’t care. Stronger training, new staff, a full reset, and more presence from upper management could help. I’m confident if management were around more, the team would spend less time socializing behind the bar and more time doing their jobs. The bottle situation really crossed the line. I drink iodized water and always carry it, but only drink it when I need it. On every rooftop visit, we’ve spent normally, again 4 cocktails and 2 dishes over 2-3 hours. Today a waiter and manager suddenly noticed my insulated bottle and pressured me to hand it over. I explained it’s my specific water, I don’t drink tap water, and they obviously don’t sell iodized water. I offered a simple compromise: keep the bottle in my partner’s bag and still order drinks, which we did. I ordered a cocktail, but it never arrived. Forgotten or intentional, at that point I don’t care. They’re persistent about tips too. I was asked more than once, insistently, and it felt like the person pretended not to understand my answer in English just to keep pushing. Bad vibe. The view and atmosphere are calming, but it’s frustrating when it’s hot and you need to order something, and even that feels like a battle. Come for the photos, buy one mediocre cocktail, take your pictures, then go to another rooftop or a normal pool. Save the money for a local restaurant and actually enjoy your meal. Here’s the bill: one dry salad, cold fries, and one cocktail. My partner ordered it and got there earlier. They brought nothing for me and didn’t even ask me during 2.5 hours. But the waiter very confidently suggested a tip, quote: “10, 15 or 25 percent.”

The pool was the one part I enjoyed. The rooftop looks appealing, and the pool itself is good, but there isn’t much shade. You also can’t bring your own towel, food, or even water up there. Drinks are for sale, though I found them very expensive: I paid £15 for a gin and tonic. The music wasn’t to my taste either. Noise was the bigger problem for me. Soho Apartments is right beside a busy main road, and traffic could be heard day and night. On arrival, despite booking through Airbnb, I also had to sign an extra building contract with sizeable financial penalties for breaking some rules. I understand having policies, but it felt strict for a short stay. Some of the finishing details didn’t seem in keeping with the price, either. I wouldn’t recommend it. Apart from the pool, the stay fell short of what I expected, and other city apartments may be better value depending on what you want.

The pool area is gorgeous, the view is beautiful, and the condo is fabulous. I’m glad the pool isn’t heated. My two gripes: it should open well before 10:00, and the employees could use a blower. Sweeping up after all those trees is too much work for them.
