It’s about five minutes to the beach, and the place was clean and maintained well. Rooms were decent, and they give you a personal locker. Booking directly seemed like the best way to avoid extra charges. They say guests can have fun together, but I didn’t find much happening or much effort to get people socializing. One receptionist, whose name I won’t give, came into my room and something happened quickly. On another day I saw him invite a guy into an empty room for what seemed to be the same reason. They also offer a discount at a sauna about a ten minute walk away.

Spartacus Hostel was my first bathhouse and hostel, and so far nothing else I’ve tried has matched the experience. I’ve been back three times: Pride 2025, August 2025, and their one year anniversary in November, 2025. It looks like the website photos, and even better in person. The full kitchen was especially handy on my first visit, when I stayed for three weeks. Filtered drinking water, hot showers, and regular cleaning by the staff were all nice touches. Manager Julio and staff Jovanni and Gabriel were amazing that first time. Gracias por darme la bienvenida y por hacer que en Spartacus me sienta como en casa. Besos y hasta Pride en Mayo!

I’m usually not a hostel person, but gave this men-only one a try. It was clean, and the staff were friendly. Rooms have either four people or more. There’s a second-floor sundeck and a small dark room for fun. Your wristband opens the lockers, so no need to bring a lock. The wristband also gets you 50% off the sauna. Bring cash for the 500 peso deposit, which you get back when you hand in the wristband at checkout. I’d have stayed another night, but the snoring made that hard. Bring ear plugs.

I was a little unsure about going back to hostel life, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The place is clean, right by the beach, and nicely located. Staff are super nice (y guapos🙂), and there’s a sweet little rooftop patio. If sharing a room with other people works for you, go for it. It’s also a good place to meet people, especially traveling solo.

Jovanni Limón at the front desk made a huge difference to my stay. He was patient, kind, knew Puerto Vallarta inside out, and gave me great tips for quiet beaches, party spots, tacos, late night rides, day trips, and local events I wouldn’t have found myself. He also helped keep things orderly and made sure the house rules were clear without being unfriendly. I made friends from all over, and he helped people connect. Everyone was warm and respectful, but Jovanni really set the tone and made me feel welcome from day one. Spartacus Hostel is a great base in Puerto Vallarta. The common areas were spotless, beds comfy, the A/C powerful, and the place felt social and casually sexy without getting chaotic. The rooftop and kitchen were good spots to meet people before heading to the beach or Zona Romántica. It has both the elegance some people want and room for sexy adventures. If you want a clean, social place run by people who care, book Spartacus and say hi to Jovanni for me. His recommendations helped make the trip what I wanted. Be who you wanna be in PV, Jovanni and the team will help you live that dream.
