The terrace had a lovely view, and the location is good if you're after somewhere more secluded and away from city noise. There are nice local restaurants nearby and the beach is beautiful. Unfortunately, those positives couldn't make up for the condition of the property. It felt partly abandoned and under renovation, so we left the next morning. A room change wouldn't have solved the broader problems. My husband and I planned this trip well in advance to celebrate our anniversary, and we were very disappointed. We arrived straight from the airport and immediately noticed a strong smell of fresh paint and mold in our room. The property manager offered us a different room the next day, but after looking around the property and area, we realized the problems went beyond our room. To reach the beach and nearby restaurants, we had to walk through active construction and past a tent settlement with unsecured dogs. We didn't feel safe, especially knowing we'd need to come back after dark. Walking through an active construction area was particularly concerning. The large villa has elevators for accessibility, but they weren't working during our stay. One advertised pool was also out of order, including the large decorative wall with circulating water shown in the photos, and the on-site restaurant mentioned in the listing was closed.

We spent 11 days here, and Alejandra and the restaurant staff were so kind and amazing. The hotel restaurant was a big hit for breakfast, by the pool and at dinner. Each morning and evening, we sat on our patio watching the boats, birds and town. Such a beautiful location.

The spacious rooms and friendly staff made this a lovely place to stay. Breakfast was delicious and well priced, and our family enjoyed the pool and waterfall. You can easily walk to Boca de Tomatlan beach and the water taxis. There were bugs around, but not too many considering the jungle setting. Highly recommend for a peaceful break from the city.

The room was huge, and the view was spectacular. The furniture could use an update, but that didn’t bother me. Great location, great staff, and a really tasty breakfast.

We’ve already booked another stay for November. On this second visit, we knew how to make the most of the amenities. The hotel looks out over a small working village that feels remarkably authentic for a tourist area, and the people there are wonderful. Beach food options were all good, and the hotel’s breakfast and lunch were also a hit, especially for the low price. The chef was attentive, spoke good English, and took time to visit with guests. Our room had beautiful views and high quality throughout. The many steps could be a drawback for some, though.
