Villa del Mar Beach Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta

We had a one-bedroom suite, and the two teenage boys fit just fine on the pullout sofa. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch. You can cook in the suite kitchen if you’re trying to save money. The location is central, so we could walk around or easily get an Uber. The hotel is a little older, and not every restaurant is open every day, but I loved staying here and would come again.

We liked that we skipped the all-inclusive plan so we could try local places. Campomar, just across the street, was excellent and became one of the trip’s highlights. The beach is beautiful and one of the best parts of the hotel, though it was frustrating having to get up early every day to claim a chair. The rooms feel dated and could use renovation. The staff really made our ten days at Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta enjoyable. Rodrigo at the beach always made sure we had an umbrella and took time to get to know us. Ian and Paco were energetic and genuinely engaged with guests on the Friday kayak tour we joined. Teresa kept our room spotless, and Margarita from the timeshare team gave great service. We had a good stay thanks to them and the location.

I had a perfect stay in Puerto Vallarta, and the people there were wonderful. The Friday festival’s food and performances were full of Mexican culture. We enjoyed our time on the beach, and our room was clean and tidy. I hope everyone stays safe. I meant to leave this kind comment a year ago, and hope it’s not too late.

The staff were very friendly, and our room was clean and nice. We loved eating on the balcony and watching the shows at the pool from there. Still, I suspect there may be mold or mildew because of the humidity. After a shower, the mirrors stayed fogged until the fan had been running for about an hour. Before we arrived, I bought two offers and regretted both. The airport transport was $19 per person. It was nice to have it handled, but Uber worked well in Mexico with the same app as in the US, and the ride was only about $7 total. I wouldn’t book the transfer again. The other offer was $375 in spa credits for $300. Once there, I learned one deal was two-for-one massages, which would have saved more than the package I’d bought. That left me feeling regretful, which is bad marketing. The first deal should be the best. I wouldn’t recommend the spa at all based on my other review, but if you go, skip the pre-arrival offer.
