Hotel Aranzazú Eco

The pool was dirty and poorly maintained, and its lights didn't work. The internet barely had a signal, and the air conditioning was out. There were no windows to open, and our view was of a construction site. The rooms smelled damp, the blankets were dusty, and the whole hotel smelled awful as soon as we walked in. My friends and I got sick after eating at the buffet. The food was terrible, and the waiters tried to make us leave before we had finished. The facilities were in bad shape too. Getting the key card to work was a nightmare, and reception hadn't told us it needed to be reactivated. Other people in our group had cockroaches in their mattresses or doors without locks. On our second night, someone tried to get into our room in the middle of the night. When we reported problems to maintenance, they weren't addressed. In my opinion, staying here is a terrible idea.

The buffet was edible, but it wasn't worth the price. Our room smelled dirty when we arrived, the beds were terribly uncomfortable, and the bathroom was still filthy after they supposedly cleaned it. When we complained, reception didn't even seem surprised. Cockroaches and other bugs were crawling out of the mattress, dropping from the ceiling, and spreading across the floor. A terrible stay. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you don't mind living with bugs.

It took the receptionists an hour to confirm my reservation, which already existed, and they were unfriendly for the rest of my stay. The hallway smelled odd, the AC didn't work, and there were no windows. Under the sheets I found little black bits and stains of questionable origin.

The buffet was disappointing. They served eggs and cold chilaquiles with hardly any seasoning, and the coffee was the only decent part. The space looked like an event room that had been converted, not like the website photos. The pool was out of order, with no warning, and several rooms had cockroaches. We reported room problems, but nobody came. Staff took our towels for replacement and didn't bring new ones, so we had to go downstairs to get them ourselves. Service was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We won't be back.
