I stayed again, and this time everything was good. The Wi-Fi worked 😝 On my 2024 stay, I booked through the Marriott app and messaged reception beforehand with my requests. Check-in was quick and easy, and the reception staff spoke English well, which made things simple. I liked the building’s curved layout and the room’s modern, cozy feel. I was in room 1201, which had the usual things like a safe, desk, fridge, and armchair. The bed and comforter were really comfortable, and I enjoyed the city view. There were some problems: the floor felt a little sticky, the showerhead leaked, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work during that stay, even after I asked reception for help. The breakfast buffet had limited choices, and I didn’t think it was worth the price. I also had to take a cab for more than 15 minutes to get anywhere, though it was still better than an airport hotel 🤣 The room design and the friendly, approachable reception staff stood out most. Overall, it was decent.

The hotel won’t award points or nights unless you ask for them manually, and you can only do that 10 days after checkout. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re busy and don’t have time to deal with that process.

The building’s architecture appealed to me, even though the place feels a bit dated. It’s a functional hotel with a clean room, a comfortable bed, and a decent shower. Breakfast was included in the rate, which was a nice extra. Not a bad place to sleep in GDL.

I felt safe here traveling alone as a woman who only speaks English, which wasn’t my experience at some other places in the area. My interactions with the AC Marriott staff were overwhelmingly positive, and they’re very pet-friendly. I only took off a star because the Google page says there’s a pool, but there isn’t one. I’d originally booked nearby at La Mansion del Sol, then moved here after an employee at the other hotel tried to assault me.

I was here for work, and the Wi-Fi wouldn’t work on my laptop, which threw off my plans. The hotel also didn’t seem to treat fixing it as urgent, and nobody replied to my message about it. If the hotel can’t respond to Bonvoy app messages, it should turn them off or set an automatic reply directing guests to the front desk. My limited experience is that apartment hotels in circular buildings tend to have some issue, and here it was the toilet and sink in the room. Their corner layout wastes space or makes it harder to move around. The TV was small and far away, too. The bed, workspace, outlets, AC, and spacious bedroom with a fridge were good, and the lounge was nice. I’m not happy giving an AC Marriott three stars. This one didn’t match the standard I’ve had at AC Marriotts around the world, where my stays have always been flawless. At least I was only here one night. I’ll pick another Bonvoy location next time.
