Hotel Boutique Las Terrazas

The food improved a lot by July 2021. I had the best omelette I’d had in a while, and the surroundings were comfortable, so my rating went back to five stars. Earlier, in February 2021, I’d lowered it from five to three because the restaurant was poor. We locals shared concerns about the food quality and service, though I was willing and hopeful that things would improve. Before that, I’d found this to be a lovely family-run place, with charming, helpful people looking after you.

It was peaceful and very clean, and our room looked just like it did on the website. We watched the sunrise from our patio, with a great view. The only small downside was spotty Wi-Fi in our room. Felipe and his family were wonderful hosts, and the prices were very reasonable. Felipe included breakfast for free and threw in appetizers with a couple of meals, too. The beach is about a five-minute walk away, with good swimming and snorkeling, and we practically had it to ourselves. The road from Los Barilles was recently repaved, so the winding mountain drive has a decent surface. The hotel is at the end of the road, with rutted beach roads continuing along the coast to the north and south. We had a wonderful stay.

We ate here three times over four days, though we didn’t stay at the hotel. The food was excellent, carefully prepared, and full of flavor.

We spent more than a week here and loved it. The rooms have little kitchen areas, there’s a pool and rooftop space, and the Smart TVs were a nice touch. The food downstairs was amazing. It’s a beautiful place to get away from all the craziness. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
