We came from Colorado, California, and elsewhere in Mexico for a family reunion in August 2025. Everyone decided to leave a day early because the stay was so awful. We'd put time and money into the reunion, and the place didn't deliver. There was even a huge spider in our room. The pool was a serious problem. My son cut his foot on sharp, broken tiles, and we learned other families had dealt with this too. Afterward we bought sand shoes and warned everyone to avoid those spots. There was also broken glass on the bathroom floor near the pool, where people could easily walk barefoot. Fortunately someone spotted it before anyone was hurt. The owner's adult son, who was at the desk, didn't seem to understand that it needed sweeping until we spelled it out. He said the previous guest had broken it, but couldn't explain why it hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. The Canadian owner quickly got my son to a doctor, and I was grateful he was seen promptly. The doctor turned out to be the owner's friend. His young son was there too, and spoke very intelligently with my son about how his dad treats injured people. When we said my son hurt his foot in the pool, the boy immediately guessed it was the area with broken tiles. We hadn't yet seen the tiles ourselves; we'd just hurried out of the pool to get help. The boy's family knew the owner and visited regularly, so he knew that pool. It upset me to think the owner, and even previous guests, may have known about the hazard. My son's injury could have been prevented with basic repairs and maintenance. The rest of the property was in poor shape too. Most people said their rooms weren't clean. One bed smelled like pee, and another had little more than a sheet for bedding. Some stoves didn't work, while others simply lost power. The owners blamed the property's decline on a family they'd once let live there to look after the place, but that was some time ago. Basic cleaning doesn't cost money if they aren't going to hire anyone, and during our stay we didn't see staff maintaining the property as you would expect at a hotel. The owners didn't seem to take pride in it.

The pool was dangerous, with loose, sharp tiles. Wear shoes in it so you don't get cut. Two people were injured, and one boy was hurt badly enough to need a doctor. The place isn't well maintained, apparently because the owner is trying to sell it. We were there for a family reunion, and a woman who lives on site had a strange visitor trying to break into her room. It made everyone uncomfortable. There was no real room service, just the woman they let live there, who did very little. The owners don't seem to care, and the owner wasn't professional. Don't pay for all your nights up front, since you may want to switch hotels and won't get a refund even in extreme circumstances. I would never stay here again.

We spent two months there, and our favorite employee by far was Ivan, the live-in worker. He got room and board and only 1,500 pesos a week in income. From what I saw, the manager's wife wasn't very friendly toward him. The hotel is under new management and they're cleaning it up, but the nighttime burning smell crept into our rooms and gave me headaches. The dogs barking constantly was annoying too. If you can put up with the smoke and noise, they are new managers still working out the kinks. I hope they do well.

The pool in back has broken tiles, and people keep getting cuts from them. The pools are nasty and aren't cleaned, and my children got allergies. The place is dirty, the air conditioning doesn't work well, and the stove was filthy. There weren't any utensils either. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

My vacation was unexpected, but it turned into an amazing experience at Hotel Casa Raymundo Suites. Our first-floor room was quiet, and the people around us were nice. The place was clean and the service was good. The staff at reception deserve special credit for their great attitude, and they provided whatever we asked for.
