Alex at the spa front desk was a true gem, so personable and helpful with booking. I loved talking with her. Both massages were wonderful: Trina has magic hands, and Marta gave me a fantastic facial. In the dining room, Joaquin was a joy to talk with. On our last night he made us feel special with an amazing Caesar salad and Mexican coffee. We’ll come back just for that. We arrived Tuesday during the off season, when the resort was nearly empty, and every staff member treated us so well. Dinner was delicious, the sunset was beautiful, and the hot tub on the right side of the property, facing the ocean, was perfect for unwinding. More guests trickled in Thursday, but it still didn’t feel crowded. We had breakfast at the Cafe each morning, and it was delicious every day. The Dirty Chai from the coffee hut was so good. A wonderful first visit, and we’ll be back.

The Gaviotas suite is a cool room, with its intricate brick ceiling and great view, and the location is beautiful. The staff were decent. But that mattress in room 404 was hands down the worst I’ve ever slept on. It’s so soft that both of us sank toward the middle of the king bed all night. Climbing from the middle to the edge to get out was difficult, and the springs are shot. It needs replacing immediately. I couldn’t sleep for half the night, and our backs hurt. This was our third visit, and I enjoyed the first two without noticing this problem, but this is probably our last stay.

The food was great, and the view from my room was amazing. I loved the place. They could use more entertainment, maybe more pool tables or adult entertainment, but otherwise it’s great.

The property is well cared for, though a little aged, and everything was clean and super comfortable. I slept like a baby, relaxed around the resort, and enjoyed the hot tub. I arrived Monday, when it was mostly empty, so it was quiet, with beautiful views. Well worth the cost. I’d recommend Las Rocas to friends and stay again when I’m back in the area.
