Courtyard by Marriott Saltillo

The hotel’s showing its age. It’s not bad at all, but if I had a better option, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The fresh fruit was the one good part of breakfast. Most of the other food was awful, basically mush, and the self-serve coffee station was always out of coffee. We also went six days without hot water in the shower, which gets old fast. If you’re on a business trip and want a miserable stay, this is the place. Need a hot shower in the morning? Avoid it at all costs.

My steak at dinner was cooked perfectly, and the staff were nice and well educated. Breakfast was included and the price was reasonable. The room was large and beautiful, though the bathroom felt very dated. It’s a nice hotel in SaltiIIo, Mexico.

The staff, location, and the fact that it’s a Marriott property are why I’d stay here again. The rooms are well appointed, and breakfast is good, but the green juice, my favorite part of a Mexican breakfast, was really bad. The pool is very small and not inviting. A few room details got on my nerves: TV reception was terrible, with many channels missing, and the TV wouldn’t swivel, so it was hard to see from bed when it was mounted to the side. The shower pressure was just okay. The AC ran on a timer, which meant getting up in the middle of the night to turn it back on.
