The one thing going for this hotel is its central spot, right where the lobby opens onto the street. Beyond that, the stay was awful. The check-in desk wanted a deposit for the remote, which probably should have warned us. It used to be a movie theater, and the rooms face the shared lobby. Their curtains don't shut properly, so people can look in, and light and noise come through. The furniture in our room was worn and shabby, and it wasn't very clean. The bathroom was worse: a cracked, dirty-looking bathtub, no faucet, a broken window, and a shower door that wouldn't close properly. The showerhead was clogged with lime, spraying water sideways onto the toilet paper and across the floor. It was hard to rinse things because the water didn't flow where it should. The toiletries were awful and felt like motel supplies. They brought breakfast coupons to our room, then told us in the morning that they were for American breakfast, not the buffet. The coffee wasn't good either. We were offered another hotel from the same company, but turned it down, cancelled, and spent the second night somewhere decent. We're not looking for luxury, just a clean, decent room. This place was appalling.

It was clean and comfortable, though the place is getting dated. I'm sure it must have been magnificent once. Just compare the price with other options before booking.

There was noise all night because the rooms have no sound barrier. If you need to sleep, go somewhere else.

We booked four rooms for two nights while visiting San Cristóbal de Las Casas with family, and everyone was happy with the stay. The location was a big plus, as was the underground parking. Staff were really respectful and kind, and the night team helped us get ice and store our ice packs in their freezer so we could keep medication cold. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, and the hotel really needs hair dryers. San Cristóbal gets cold at night, so after a full day out, going to bed with wet hair was a big disappointment. Bring your own dryer if you stay here. I didn't see the pool, and we were too busy sightseeing to try the restaurant, so I can't comment on either. We recommend the place.
