We stayed in the private room over New Year’s and can’t recommend the hostel enough. The shared bathrooms and kitchen were especially clean, and everything seemed to get checked and cleaned twice a day. The place is well organized, and the staff and volunteers were super helpful with tour bookings and recommendations around town. Really good value for money.

La Isla Bonita ✨ The hostel has a great atmosphere and lovely decor, and the staff are kind, especially Aura. It’s a great place to meet people, with everything you need close by.

The yoga was a highlight for both of us: three free classes each week, with experienced instructors and a peaceful setting. We went to every session and found them a lovely way to unwind and recharge. After nearly two months traveling around Mexico, my friend and I both felt that Hostel La Isla in San Cristóbal was the best place we’d stayed. Ak’s care shows in the thoughtful design and warm welcome. The volunteers were wonderfully hospitable, and we felt at home. The rooms were comfortable, and the whole hostel was impeccably clean and well cared for.

The beds are really comfy, the bathrooms are nice, and the showers get hot. The staff are super friendly too. It’s a cozy, homey hostel with a good kitchen, pleasant places to hang out, and a very good healthy breakfast. The location is perfect, and it seems to draw kind, open, peaceful people. Bed curtains would make it even better. I’d definitely stay again :)

There were bugs in the beds and the washrooms were dirty. The service was terrible, and the manager was very mean. They kept my money. I don’t recommend this place at all. Bad, bad 👎
