Hotel La Casa de Mama

The courtyard is lovely and the room itself was nice, but noise ended up ruining our stay. We paid extra for a larger room right beside the pool, so we constantly heard the filter and people swimming. Since every room faces the courtyard, noise carried through the day and night. People used the pool after hours, talked loudly outside, and staff woke me at 3 am while chatting in the courtyard. The location was good and the setting is beautiful. I’d still avoid it if getting a good night’s sleep matters to you. I’d been excited to stay after seeing the photos, but it didn’t meet my expectations.

The heated pool was the big highlight for our two kids, who looked forward to it every afternoon. It’s small, but just right for our family of four, and never seemed too crowded even with other guests there. The first-floor gardens are beautiful too, a lovely place to sit with a coffee or beer by the pool. Our room was a little cramped for four, but we managed, and having the pool made it worthwhile. San Cris can be cool, so the heated water really matters. Check-in was easy, and the front-desk team were courteous and always kind when answering questions. They helped us figure out getting to Arcotete Eco-Park, arranged a cab to the bus station, and provided pool towels. We loved our time at La Casa De Mama and would happily stay there again if we return to San Cris.

La Casa de Mama felt safe and was just far enough from downtown's bustle. My son was very happy with the heated pool, and I loved all the greenery. The staff were accommodating, and we even got to meet Mama and chat with her in Spanish. We spent four nights there as a family and made wonderful memories. The beds were very hard, and we could hear people outside our room easily, but the visit was otherwise impeccable.

The garden and hotel were in perfect condition, and the rooms were quiet and really comfortable. It's close to the centre and has a great pool. Humberto and Flor made us feel so welcome with their warm hospitality. We had an amazing stay at La Casa de Mamá. I miss it, and really recommend it!
