It's a neat historical building, but it doesn't offer much as a hotel. The room was clean but spartan, with no glasses, fridge, breakfast, or place to make tea or coffee. You had to buy your own glasses. It felt like an upscale hostel. The closest restaurants required some walking, and the town Plaza Historical center was quite a way away. Reception did provide extra blankets in exchange for a deposit. Back home, I'd rate it two stars at best.

The mattresses and pillows made for excellent sleep, and there was hot water. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay at this convenient property, just steps from the main streets, which can be noisy all night. I'd recommend it to anyone staying in beautiful San Cristobal. Unbeatable value for money.

We couldn't get a quiet night during our week here. Mornings brought loud tour groups, ringing phones, or the doorbell, and on our final day children were kicking a soccer ball against doors in the hall. Guests' behavior is part of it, but reception should step in sooner. If restful sleep matters to you, I'd avoid this hotel.
