Posada Mi Casa Hostel

The rooftop terrace is huge, with a magnificent view, and there’s a covered spot for hanging laundry. I liked it for breakfast, sunbathing, relaxing, or exercising at sunrise. Restaurants are nearby, there’s a little shop on the corner, and the city center is only two blocks away. Prices felt reasonable for the location and what’s offered. This is a real gem in downtown San Cristóbal de las Casas: central but surprisingly quiet, with dorms, private rooms with shared bathrooms, and a private room with its own bathroom. There’s a communal kitchen, plus an external soup kitchen in the building. I highly recommend it, Miriam is a fantastic cook. Many thanks to Dani, the host, who’s happy to give advice and help with tours.

I stayed for a month and felt very welcome. It has a lovely homey atmosphere, and it’s easy both to make friends and to find privacy if that’s what you want. The location is in the hippest part of the city, close to great cafes and restaurants and a short walk from the central square. The rooftop is big, with sunny and shaded areas. The kitchen has what you need, the water is hot, and the showers are powerful. The rooms and hostel are kept really clean, and there are two adorable, pretty chill dogs. Daniel was a super host, helpful and responsive to our needs. I’d 100% recommend it.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The rooftop terrace is unforgettable, especially for looking up at the moon and stars. Thank you, daniel, for creating this place and hosting us. A really lovely place to stay in San Cristobal!

The warm, cozy community and the friendly service from Dani and the volunteers keep bringing me back. I’ve stayed several times, and each visit has been satisfying. It feels comfortable and safe, and most downtown San Cristobal de las Casas sights are an easy walk away. Recommended.
