La Hacienda de la Langosta Roja

Everything was good: a convenient location, clean rooms, hot water, and attentive staff.

The Langosta is where we stay for the San Felipe shrimp festival. My fiancé and his best friends have apparently made it a tradition for a couple of decades, and I was lucky to join them last year. This year we’re coming back with my sons. The rooms are spotless and well cared for, and you’re within walking distance of the malecon, the waterfront area with restaurants and stalls by the beach where all the action is. It’s no five star hotel, but it’s clean, comfortable, and feels safe. The staff really try to make you happy. The showers work better if you take off the shower head. It’s an authentic, comfortable place for regular folks who aren’t after anything fancy. I highly recommend it if you’re going to the shrimp festival.

We always stay here when we’re passing through. It’s a little rustic and can get noisy. Just so you know, the policies have new gators that roar around at night. It’s not very quiet if you’re trying to sneak up on thecbaf people.

You can easily walk to the beach and promenade, and there are lots of restaurants nearby, plus a taxi rank. Parking is secure, the water supply and bathroom were good, and the AC worked well, which you need in the hot months. The rooms and sheets were clean, and the beds were comfortable for what we needed. It has the main amenities for good value, so expect no frills, but it worked great for our holiday. The one thing I’d change is the closet placement: ours was inside the bathroom, though I saw some rooms with it in the bedroom.
