We came to The Westin Los Cabos for my daughter's wedding, with family and friends spread across several rooms. Every room we stayed in had the same problem: at night the AC stopped cooling, though the fan kept running. Lowering the thermostat made no difference. Management said maintenance would come, but nothing changed. After I kept raising it, I felt dismissed, as though they thought the problem was in our heads. It seemed the hotel might have an energy system limiting cooling at night, but they wouldn't acknowledge or explain that. If cooling is being restricted on purpose, guests should be told up front rather than made to question what they're experiencing. My own room, 1605, was sold as having a water view, but about 90% of what I saw was the cliff. It was the last unit on the sixth floor, tucked into the canyon, and the view was awful. Don't stay in 1605. We were repeatedly told the hotel was overbooked and nothing could be done, though they did offer an upgrade for an extra charge. The response and the effort to save a few dollars at guests' expense will keep us from returning. For a Westin resort, the guest service and transparency were disappointing. I wouldn't stay again unless the nighttime cooling issue is addressed.

The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive all through our stay, and the pools and beach area were well cared for. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and beautiful ocean views at The Westin Los Cabos, including waking up to the sound of the waves. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. It was a lovely place to unwind, and we even had the chance to spot whales in season. A calm escape in Cabo with great service and scenery. Highly recommended.

We visited Cabo for the first time and enjoyed both downtown areas as well as this spacious resort between San Jose and downtown Cabo. It's about 25 minutes from either, and Uber is easy if you don't rent a car. We visited Cabo downtown about five times for activities. Late October brought a full week of perfect weather, no rain, and little cloud cover. We'd certainly return. Our two-bedroom villa was modern, spacious, and well equipped, with plenty of hot water, a balcony off the main bedroom and another off the family room. Wi-Fi worked very well throughout, and there is a business center. The property is well maintained, although some daytime construction was underway and didn't bother us at the adult pool. Getting around the large resort can mean a long, confusing walk from the lobby to your room. There are ramps in some spots, and guests talked about the layout. The staff took great care of us. David made sure we had what we needed at the pool, and Alicia and Sebastian ran activities and played pickleball with me. The valet always had our rental car ready when we called; driving was easy, straight into downtown Cabo. Restaurants use the same general menu, with plenty of choice, which suited us since we ate out several evenings. The market was well stocked, and we also went to Fresko when we arrived. Nights were quiet, though we watched the World Series at the sports bar, which has pool and foosball tables. My wife had two spa treatments with Maria and was very happy with both. Pickleball runs at 9:00 AM each morning, with a tournament on Thursday, and paddles are provided. Daily pool activities include bingo, Blackjack tournaments, water aerobics, and tequila tastings. We had no trouble getting a good pool seat even when we came down around 9:30 AM. There are beach chairs too. The beach is nice, but rip currents mean you must sign a waiver to swim. Choose your time carefully: waves can crash in hard, and keep clear of the rock outcroppings. One travel note: ATM fees were steep, from $10 to $100 USD depending on how many pesos you wanted. Next time I'd get pesos from our bank; leftover cash can go toward hotel incidentals at checkout.

It's a great hotel in a great location, and we'd come back. The service, resort, prices, and included drinks were all good. But I'd book activities myself next time. We wanted to golf despite not being very good, and the concierge steered us away from Palmillas, saying it wasn't a good course. We found Palmillas ourselves for $100 less per person, and it was incredible. We also booked water park activities through the hotel, then found discounted prices online that would have saved a few hundred dollars. They said they didn't get discounted rates. When I mentioned it to the concierge, the hotel did end up covering an Efoil activity that they had said was included but actually wasn't. I'd do a quick online search before booking through the hotel.

The Westin staff are wonderful, and they make the experience enjoyable, though the location is far from the fun in Los Cabos and prices are very high. I was in a lower-level room on the Baja Point side, reached by three elevators and quite a few stairs. It wasn't convenient or very accessible, though the walk can count as exercise. Being at a Westin has upsides and downsides: it gives the stay a standard, but can also make the hotel rigid and unaccommodating. My room had a patio, but nobody would bring a lounge chair, so I took one from the pool and carried it up myself. Regular guests may know which rooms to request next time. I might instead try a more boutique hotel that can offer more.
