Marilu was really friendly, and the receptionist's service was quite good. The room itself was clean and had plenty of space. The one drawback was the hot water: because they use solar heaters, there wasn't any at night or very early in the morning.

The breakfasts were delicious, and aside from one snag, everything was really good. I was there with a companion, and the hotel seemed like a pleasant spot to unwind. The TV had no signal at all. They said the rain was to blame, which killed the mood I was hoping for, haha. Otherwise, we were fine.

The young woman who apologized to us said she was just doing her job. I understand that, especially since the staff work nights and deal with all kinds of guests. We did get our money back, and that was a nice gesture. Still, most of the staff were rude and the service was poor. We wouldn't recommend this place for small children, despite how family-friendly it's presented as being. Getting to the hotel was confusing since it was almost hidden. We knocked on the doorman's door, and he seemed indifferent from the start. They led us first to the motel, then to a laundry room, which we complained about. Even after we were already in the room, the owner told us to leave if we didn't like it. Two people were also sent to check whether we'd done anything to the room. As two women, we found that upsetting and wondered what they thought we might do. It was nearly 1 a.m. when they kicked us out and slammed the door. We had no car, so we had to find a ride at 1:00 AM. One of the women working there came to see whether we were waiting outside for a taxi, then burst out laughing. That was very inconsiderate. We're grateful we weren't physically assaulted, because arriving at night can carry that risk, especially at such a secluded place. The hotel is by the highway, about 15 minutes from downtown Tequisquiapan. Maybe things would have gone differently if we'd arrived earlier. When we first booked, the service had been excellent.

We were in room 6, the family room, and ended up staying only because it was raining and we had to. The room was clean and tidy, and the beds were hard but manageable. But the sewage smell from the bathroom drain was so awful it made us feel like vomiting. We put a wet towel across the doorway just to sleep, and the children and we didn't want to use the bathroom anymore. We told the receptionist, who said it had been an issue for a while and they'd already informed the owner, but nothing had been done. The water heaters are solar-powered, so with the rain there was no hot water either. The smell was the worst part, and that experience was very bad.
