Excellence Express & Suites

The hotel stay was great, and both the rooms and service were very good. What bothered me was the pool water, which was incredibly hot. I preferred sitting outside instead of getting in, and lowering the temperature would make it more comfortable. There also isn't a restaurant at the hotel, so I had to find somewhere nearby for dinner.

The noise was the big problem here. At any hour, day or night, I could hear the pounding from businesses around the place and couldn't sleep. I also wish there were coffee available throughout the day and evening, plus room service or dinner options. I ate at USA wings across from the hotel and got salmonella poisoning, which left me sick for a week. Aside from that, the place wasn't bad.

Could work well if you're traveling for business in the area.

The beds and pillows were really comfortable, and the water pressure and temperature were just right. The staff were very friendly too. I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to San Juan del Río.
