Holiday Inn Express San Luis Potosi by IHG

The rooms at The Holiday Inn feel a little dated, but they're clean and well cared for. The hospitality is what stands out, with staff who are welcoming, attentive, and friendly. A good choice if great service matters more to you than modern decor.

We’ll keep coming back here when we visit. The staff, food, laundry, and shuttle were all great, and the location worked well for restaurants and even a dentist we visited. It’s right off Highway 57, a major strip, and the shuttle can take you wherever you need to go.

The taxi has a fixed fare of 400 pesos, so the free airport shuttle matters to me. I hate having to make a fuss about it, but when I need it at 4:00 a.m. for a flight, I’m often told there’s no shuttle available. Once I ask for the manager and explain that the shuttle is why I stay there, they can usually find transportation. The last time, though, they said it might not be available in the future. Holiday Inn should either update the amenities on its website or provide what it advertises.

The room was fine, if a bit dated, but we won’t stay here again, and neither will our extended family. The whole reason my boyfriend and I booked was to be near the airport and get a shuttle for our early flight home. We’d read complaints about shuttle access, so we called ahead. The person at reception confirmed they could take us, and we gave our card details and reserved a room. After we arrived, checked in, and paid, they said the shuttle was already booked and couldn’t take us. When I asked for a refund so we could find another hotel with a shuttle, they refused because it was less than 24 hours before our stay. We reminded them about our earlier call, but they didn’t care. They claimed we should have booked a more expensive room because ours didn’t qualify for the free shuttle. The front desk man also said the website explains that cheaper rooms aren’t eligible, but I looked online and couldn’t find that anywhere.
