The building is beautiful, and I enjoyed sitting in the living room. The location is good, and breakfast was simple but nice, with bread, coffee, and cereal. Still, it didn't feel very social, and for more privacy or a better hostel atmosphere at a better price, I'd stay somewhere else. I paid 375 pesos a night ($20.50) for a bunk in a shared room with ten beds, which felt like about twice what it should cost. There's one bathroom for everyone in the room, but no shower; for that, you have to go down the hall and through another dorm room. No AC meant I sweated all night and got eaten alive by mosquitoes. The bed had only a thin sheet for a blanket and no curtain. They also wanted 200 pesos extra for a guest, even for just an hour. Wifi was only okay, and I wasn't sure about security in the neighborhood at night.

We had a great time in this spacious hotel with a large group. It's set in a beautiful old building with high ceilings, and there are lots of shared spaces where you can relax and enjoy views of the city center.

We spent four days here and really didn't want to leave. Our double room had a private bathroom and two balconies over the street, right in the city center with plazas, museums, and cathedrals all around. The bed was so comfortable, and the sheets felt soft. Staying in an 1860 mansion made the whole visit feel special. We could also use the roomy common areas and terrace for reading or relaxing. Everything was very clean, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast came with the reasonable room price and was served in a wonderful historic kitchen: toast, fruit, cereal, coffee, and tea. Just right.

I had a ten-person dorm to myself, so there wasn't much of a social atmosphere while I was there. The staff did make getting around SLP easier by sharing a Google Maps link with restaurants and services. This is a well-kept, very clean hostel in a restored 1850s mansion, close to everything in the historic center. The dorm beds are comfortable and have reading lights and two outlets, though there are no curtains. Lockers are roomy, bathrooms are modern and spacious, and there's a properly equipped kitchen. Filtered tap water is available. Breakfast is basic but handy, with two cereals, bread and spreads, fruit, tea, and coffee.

I liked my four-night stay and would come back. The staff were really nice, and the place was clean and nicely renovated. It's right in the downtown area, too.
