The restaurant was a hit with us, especially the French toast and chilaquiles. The rooms were perfect too, and the service was 10/10. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Highly recommend.

They offer free rides downtown, but won't bring you back to the hotel. You'll need to get an Uber or catch a taxi for the return trip.

The service has been the best part for me. From check-in through breakfast, everyone has been friendly, helpful, and personable. As a Hilton Diamond member who's traveled worldwide for over 14 years, I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable, and the brick-and-stone style and views are fabulous. There is free parking, and Diamond members get complimentary breakfast. Ours was delicious, with fresh fruit and juice, great coffee, and tasty food overall. It's clearly not in the heart of San Miguel Allende, but it's conveniently close to a plaza with a Liverpool, a movie theater, and other places to eat, all within walking distance if you're up for a cobblestone path. Driving into town is easy: Hwy 111 takes you to the city center in 12-14 minutes. The drive has no steep grades, and there's an overlook with a spectacular view of San Miguel de Allende. I'd recommend it to world travelers and to anyone who appreciates other cultures. Some negative reviews seem ridiculous to me, as if people come to a foreign country expecting everything to be like home. If you don't like it, stay home. The staff and people around are better off without you. If you love traveling and want a beautiful San Miguel de Allende experience, stay here!

The property and rooms are nice, clean, and well designed, and the location is okay, not far from downtown. My check-in was smooth, and the woman at the front desk was welcoming. Mauricio, the bartender, was professional, friendly, and great. The woman who checked me in and two other front desk staff were also exceptions to the poor service I experienced. Most staff didn't acknowledge guests, make conversation, or show much hospitality. During my six-day stay I was told only five rooms were booked, yet the hotel was nearly empty and service, apart from the bartender, still took a long time. I was told there were only five rooms booked. The rooms have very thin walls, so you can hear conversations and other sounds from next door. The food was average, and the espresso machine needs maintenance or calibration. The shots were extremely weak, and staff didn't seem to care. They have a van for guests but wouldn't offer airport transportation. When I asked, three front desk staff looked at each other before someone said, “no airport.” They spoke some English, so I don't think the language barrier explains everything; I used a translator when needed. At checkout, five staff were at the desk and none offered to help get my luggage outside while I waited for my ride. They watched me struggle with the cart on the ramp, which has no automatic door button, and as it rolled down the sidewalk to the driveway. The incline is terrible for a full cart, and my luggage fell over while two staff watched without helping. When I picked it up and asked, “ok, dont help me then??”, they finally came over. I was shocked by the lack of courtesy. I asked for the hotel manager's card, and suddenly they couldn't speak English, though they had spoken English earlier. One girl smiled and laughed when I said it was “que malo” that they had watched and refused to help. They gave me the director of sales's card, so I emailed her and am waiting to hear back, though I doubt they care about guests being mistreated. As a Travel Advisor, I wouldn't recommend or book this hotel for clients. They are overstaffed for the number of guests, yet the service is poor. Management should take responsibility and fix these issues, but I doubt anything will come of this feedback. Staff smiling and laughing when you're upset about valid concerns says a lot about the leadership.
