The hotel has plenty of distinctive little corners and places to sit, plus a shared kitchen where you can buy and cook your own meals. There’s no fridge or microwave in the rooms. We also enjoyed the lunches available for purchase and the included breakfast, cooked fresh and much better than the continental breakfasts we’re used to in the US. The rooms were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping tips are shared among the staff, so you really feel looked after, like you're staying in a welcoming home away from home. It’s a cozy base for exploring the city, around a 10-15 minute walk from the Jardin.

I enjoyed being able to step right out of my room into the garden, with its several semi-private spots to sit. There’s also an upstairs lounge and kitchen for guests, and I could keep groceries in my room’s assigned shelf space or in the shared fridge. I made afternoon tea and relaxed on the rooftop terraces or in the indoor lounge. On my first visit to San Miguel de Allende, Casa Camellia felt like a new home. The whole staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Every room is different, and my room, La Rosa, was very comfortable. It was a little dark in January, but I imagine that would make it a nice retreat during warmer months. I’m looking forward to coming back to Casa Camellia.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Camellia. It has a special, colorful feel and is friendly and relaxing, with a great Mexican atmosphere. Uriel was especially attentive. We lost our internet connection before arriving, and he waited for us until we got there. Thank you!

A quaint little boutique hotel with a lush 🪴 garden and breakfast included. It was about $120 USD a night.

It’s away from the tourist center, but still an easy walk to everything. We had a great stay and especially liked the restaurant in the garden, along with the shared kitchen and lounge.
