We felt right at home on the property, and we’ll be back. The room had an amazing view of the church tunnel dating to 1812, which gave the stay a real sense of history. Casa No Name also has a remarkable team. Eliana, Carmen, and Jose were attentive and thoughtful, tailoring their help to us and making the whole visit memorable. In all my years of traveling, I haven’t come across a hotel with this kind of charm and elegance.

The people running the hotel were so welcoming and helpful, pointing us toward good restaurants, walks, and the places we needed to find when heading out into town. Our stay at Casa No Name felt magical, and the atmosphere even helped inspire us to move to SMA after the trip. It really was a dream come true.

We stopped by for a drink in the late afternoon and loved the margaritas. The place has a calm, quiet, almost Zen feel that makes it easy to unwind. We haven’t tried the food yet, but we’re looking forward to coming back and checking out the menu. A lovely hidden gem in San Miguel de Allende.

Casa No Name really made Christmas special. I loved the potato and egg frittata, the dish called Tortillas in Spain, and the holiday mimosa buffet is something I’ll remember. They hold these special brunches only a few times each year, with food chosen for the occasion. The restaurant normally serves breakfast for hotel guests and is open to the public only then. This 6 room Boutique Hotel is set in a striking historic 17th Century restoration. There’s no dinner restaurant, but the rooftop bar and lounge offers appetizer food for an afternoon cocktail. Five star Christmas experience for me!

We’d visited the rooftop bar a couple of years ago and had a great time, but this year we were turned away twice, several days apart. Both times the hostess at the front door said we couldn’t go up because they were having trouble with the bartender. Once might have made sense, but having it happen twice felt like poor business. We didn’t try again.
