Casa Oratorio Rinconada

The room was huge, with a comfortable bed, a spacious shower, and great hot water pressure. We spent nearly three hours in the pool and jacuzzi, and the staff there and at the front desk and Rooftop Bar were so friendly and helpful. They didn’t hurry us out the next day, either. We stayed in town for lunch and a walk, then checked out around 3pm. Check-in was available all day, and the hotel is close to Centro, restaurants, shops, and attractions. We hope to come back at the end of the month, or next year if we can’t.

Around 3 am we woke up with BED BUG BITES. We took several pictures of the insects and spent the rest of the night on the sofa, which was extremely uncomfortable. We told the manager in the morning. She said there was nothing she could do except offer a free night in another room. We declined after dealing with the bites and had to wash our clothes right away. We don’t know whether our original room was out of service because of bed bugs, but this was a terrible stay and I wouldn’t recommend it. They offered no partial refund and didn’t offer to clean our clothes. We’d booked a day trip to SAn Miguel and saw this beautiful hotel. We’d originally asked for a premier room, but on arrival they automatically upgraded us to a better room. It sounded like a nice surprise until it turned into a TERRIBLE UPGRADE!!!

Ring the doorbell at the entry to get in. The door stays locked because the place is beside bank machines. Once upstairs, there’s a gorgeous view, reasonable drink prices, and even a hot tub, though it’s more warm than hot. Aldo makes a great margarita. Thanks for being so hospitable.

We booked what looked like a lovely room for three nights, but were shown a closet with no windows. The king bed left just 24" between it and each wall, barely enough space to move around. It could only be reached from the street entrance, which was dark. We refused it, then were taken to another closet up a dark, dangerous staircase. After that, they offered to show us the real rooms for $50 more per night. This felt like a bait-and-switch. Booking.com should remove these thieves.
