Hotel Boutique Verbena

The location is good, and the pillows, blankets, and shower were nice. There was no storage or safe, just a few hangers on the curtain rod and no drawers in the bedside tables. The room also had mosquitoes and no AC. At the cheap price, I would have overlooked those inconveniences, but not the access problem. I stayed three nights for a wedding and wasn’t given a key or another way to open the main door. They said someone would be at the desk around the clock. After the wedding, I arrived at about 12:45 am and knocked for more than 30 minutes, but nobody was there, even though belongings were visible at the desk. I went to find friends in town and came back around 3:30 am. Again I knocked and called repeatedly for over half an hour. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get my luggage before leaving for my 7 am flight. Someone eventually let me in, but I couldn’t sleep at the hotel that night because access wasn’t reliable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The first room had a door that wouldn’t lock properly, and there was no bathroom door, so the toilet was right in the room. They moved me to a room under the balcony at the very top, but its AC didn’t work either. The staff couldn’t explain why until I realized the unit wasn’t getting power. The staff are kind, but they don’t seem trained. The place looks good in photos; save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else so you can enjoy the town.

Clean and solid little hotel in a surprisingly tucked-away spot, with a very convenient location. It’s close to the main busy street, so it can get noisy, and the staff seemed pretty lax.

The location is fine and the service was good, but the water problems never really got sorted out. On my first day there was no water, and they said it would be back the next morning. The next day it was running, but there was no hot water.
