Casa Mia Suites sits partway up the hill, so it feels peaceful and a little removed while still being close to everything. The inner courtyard has a Tuscany feel, and after a day among the cobbled streets and galleries, it was lovely to come back to a calm spot above the city. The place feels intimate and boutique-like, with a warm welcome and a bit of elegance without losing its comfort. The location made getting around easy. Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel and the principal town square are only minutes away, with coffee shops, bakeries, cocktail bars, and great restaurants all a short stroll from the hotel. We loved being able to grab morning espresso or find dessert late at night. Casa Mia won us over, and we were already thinking about coming back before we left.

If walking is difficult, keep in mind that Casa Mia Suites is on a hilly street, which can make the route to and from the main square challenging. Most major attractions are close enough to reach on foot, though. Our room had a narrow spiral staircase up to the bedroom, so it took care to use. One step broke under pressure; I wasn’t hurt, and the staff repaired it promptly after I told them. Inside, the courtyard was beautiful, with a soothing fountain, and the room was spacious and comfortable. It had a well-equipped kitchenette with supplies and drinking water, plus a nice view of downtown from the terrace. The exterior doesn’t hint at the charm inside. The staff were wonderful and hospitable, and Casa Mia Suites would be one of my top places to stay in SMA.

We were glad we found this cozy, cute little hotel after considering an Airbnb. The rooms were fine, and the Central Plaza inside was especially charming and nicely decorated. There’s a fantastic view from the rooftop terraza, and the Central Plaza and restaurants are just minutes away. We’d stay again, though next time we might try another fun place too.

I only needed a room for the night before joining a group at another hotel, and I wish I’d been able to spend the whole week at Casa Mia. My suite had a lovely kitchen area and an L-shaped sitting sofa built into the living room. The gorgeous bedroom was separate, with a big, comfortable king bed. The bathroom worked well and had lovely hot water for my shower. The courtyard is so pretty, and the hotel was quiet and relaxing. The location is amazing, just a short walk down the hill to Panio and very close to the main square. I’ll be back with my family next year!

Getting there by car was stressful. There’s nowhere to park in front, and the hotel is on a busy one-way street, so give at least 25 minutes’ notice before arriving if you have a car. I’d avoid bringing one if you can, and hiring a driver or service to get into town is worth it. Driving here is stressful, with transit officers waiting for mistakes so they can issue tickets. There’s no elevator, but staff can help with bags. We stayed in room #8 for 2 nights in late October. It was spacious, and we liked having a little kitchenette, dining, and living area together. I found the beds comfortable, neither too soft nor too hard, and the bedroom has AC. The bathroom sink area was tiny, the lighting was poor, and there’s no full-length mirror. The towels weren’t great, so I’d bring your own. Shower pressure was a little too strong and couldn’t be adjusted, though I’d prefer that to weak pressure; the water also took a while to drain. The courtyard and rooftop lounge are beautiful, and we barely heard our neighbors. They provide two umbrellas and a shopping bag, which was a nice touch. I booked through Expedia and had no problems or sense that I was treated differently. I’d recommend the hotel and stay again.
