The hosts made us feel welcome, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful, comfortable, safe place, with a lovely rooftop deck, views, and a fireplace. The location makes it an easy walk to markets, shops, and restaurants, and it's very close to the heart of San Miguel. I'll definitely come back.

We had plenty of storage for our 6 week stay, and heaters for the cooler mornings. Our room combined traditional style with modern comforts: hot water on demand, a well-equipped kitchen where we cooked regularly, a sitting room, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The rooms also have a splendid filtration system, so there was no concern about drinking, bathing, cooking, or rinsing food with the water. I've been coming to Mexico for 50 years, and that was a first for me. You could get that in a very expensive or all-inclusive hotel, but Pied-à-Terre at Casitas Aparicio let us experience more of real Mexico while providing it. After many visits, that was a first for me. The upstairs terrazzo patio with a Weber grill was another highlight. Paula and Jonathan were extraordinarily helpful, sharing lots of information about places to go, things to do, and where to eat. They even suggested doctors and a computer repairman. They can make your trip better. The rooms are behind a locked gate with electronic key access, which made entry secure and easy. Pied-à-Terre at Casitas Aparicio is on a main street, about a 6 block walk south and one block east to El Jardin, the main square. There is a hill along the way, as there is around San Miguel. Hills, barking dogs, church bells, and firecrackers are part of SMA. They can affect a stay here or anywhere in Centro, so if those things bother you, SMA may not be for you. That's not the fault of Pied-à-Terre at Casitas Aparicio. Its location is a real reason to stay: close to many attractions, a fantastic market for produce, street food, and other goods, and El Jardin, the hub. We often walked to other neighborhoods where life was a little slower, including Benito Juarez Park, Guadalupe, and San Antonio. During the Christmas season, El Jardin was a constant marvel to us.

We had a good stay, and it was easy to walk around and see San Miguel de Allende from here. The staff at Pied-a-terre were great, and we appreciated both the well-equipped kitchen and the little patio outside our upstairs bedroom. The bedroom had a fan and A/C, and there was good hot water. Street parking is difficult, and the TV in Room 1 was broken, with huge vertical lines across the screen. The mirador didn't offer a real view, but I'd still recommend the hotel.

Casitas Aparicio ended up being one of my favorite places to stay, out of as many as 100 places I've visited over the years. I arrived in San Miguel to get away during these crazy times, planning to stay with friends. They had a plumbing problem the day before I arrived, though, and found Casitas Aparicio for me because they knew I needed strong internet for work on Zoom. Owner Paula helped arrange everything at the last minute, and the internet was strong. The rest of the place was fantastic too. I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay in San Miguel for one month. I stayed in two units, most of the time in unit 6 at the top. There are 6 casitas, with one or two bedrooms, spread over a few levels. The grounds were beautifully maintained, with Mexican Adobe-colored tile, trees, and flowering plants lining the floor. Isabel, Miguel and Cristina kept everything spotless and the flowers and plants vibrant. Petra, the property manager, was always available when I locked myself out of my room or locked my things in the safe. The Mexican-designed property itself is beautiful and flower-filled, with stunning views at reasonable prices. My terrace and the community terrace both had stunning views. The small one-way street is just outside the bustle, but Casitas Aparicio sits on the edge of the historic center, one of the most beautiful I've seen, with everything close by. From the street door, you wouldn't guess what a beautiful place was inside. After enjoying the climate and views so much, I bought a house on the hill I had looked out at from the terraces. If I hadn't bought a house, I'd stay there each time I returned to San Miguel.

The apartment was clean and tidy, with lovely views across San Miguel and a great location. Petra, the manager, and Paula, the owner, helped make the stay so good. They shared tips about the city and were flexible about our arrival times.
