The location wasn't ideal. It's fairly close to the strip mall, but downtown is farther away. Walking there takes around 20-30 minutes depending on your fitness, and the narrow road and even narrower sidewalks don't make it a pleasant route. The walk back uphill can take at least 40 minutes, so I'd take a taxi. Whoever assigns hotel star ratings should take at least one away. I won't return. The internet never reached our room during our three-day stay. At check-in they charged us right away, unlike the checkout payment I'd come to expect at other hotels. I only had my debit card with me and asked to pay by phone. The receptionist said they didn't accept that, though the terminal showed wireless payment; she then said it didn't work, so I used another method. The Wi-Fi wasn't working when we got to the room. At 5 p.m. reception said it had been intermittent since morning and they were waiting for the provider, but it stayed down. I asked every day and got the same response. On the third day another receptionist gave me a network, but its signal didn't reach even a few feet beyond reception. The room looked okay in photos, but I found dust, mold on the shower-door hinges, and an old-looking bathroom mirror with marks. The light switch was damaged and sticking out of the wall, which seemed like a shock risk, especially with steam from a hot shower. The TV was a decent size, maybe 30 inches, but the picture was grainy and full of interference. Its remote was broken, and with no internet there was hardly any entertainment. The pool tables were in terrible shape, damaged by rain, dust, and age. They were bumpy and dusty, some balls weren't the right ones, including the 1 and 8, and there was mold on the walls. Breakfast was included, but it was just fruit, eggs cooked as requested, refried beans with two tortilla chips and a little cheese, pan dulce and regular bread with marmalade packets and what I hope was margarine, since there was no butter. We wanted more bread, but the person in charge didn't understand our signal, so we had to call out for it. There were only two other occupied tables, so it wasn't as if he was too busy to come over. The bed was fair enough for sleeping, but everything else was a disaster. We were immediately charged at check-in. Staff said the Wi-Fi was intermittent, and the problem was never fixed before we left.
