I spent the week diving, eating tacos, and drinking beer after booking five days with ten dives. Best week ever, and I’m 100% sure I’ll be back. The place was clean, the private room wasn’t too expensive, and everyone was so nice. Marianna greeted me on Thursday and made me feel welcome right away. I met lots of people, and the vibe here is something special.

The free coffee and pasta were a nice touch, and you can conveniently book dives right through the hostel. I didn’t dive with them, though. During my two weeks in Mexico, this has been my favorite hostel so far, with a great vibe and wonderful staff.

The location is hard to beat, right downtown and just a two-minute walk from the port. My friend and I paid only $33usd a night for a private room. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. I’d stay again if I came to Cozumel for diving. The two drawbacks for me were that the AC only ran 12 hours a day and the hot water was solar-powered.

My dive, booked through the hostel, was great. Our dive master sandra was enthusiastic and professional, and we had the best time. Back at the hostel, the comfortable bed had its own light and plug, and I liked having two differently sized lockers in the room for my backpack and smaller bags. The place is modern, clean, and has a friendly, attentive staff that makes it feel quite homey. I would have liked curtains, at least if every bed had been occupied, but I heard they’re already working on that. And don’t let the island’s very touristy first impression after leaving the ferry fool you. That’s for the cruise ship torists' sake.

The bunks are some of the better quality ones I’ve seen in México, and the hostel is spacious, reasonably priced, and in an excellent spot. The bathroom-to-shower ratio was decent, though there are no gendered dorms. If you dive with them, you get a free night for every day of diving, or what you already paid can be discounted from the dive. Dive With George is the better local business, though this place is a little more convenient.
