Hotel Vista del Mar

We spent 10 days here and loved the location, close to lots of places to start adventures from. The balcony view was fabulous. Make sure you book an "ocean view" room, or you may end up with no view. The staff were super friendly and cleaned the room really well. Scooter parking is downstairs; cars need to park on the street, but parking is available. There was plenty of space, the bed was comfortable, the AC stayed cold, and there was lots of hot water, though it took a minute to come through. The mini fridge was handy. I'd definitely stay again.

We got a really good rate for our week, and I'm glad we chose this hotel over one of the bigger ones. It's quiet and relaxed, and it's pet friendly. The staff were kind and helpful. They brought soft croissants with butter and jam and hot coffee to our room at 8 every morning. Whenever we needed clean towels, new sheets, or anything else, they responded quickly. The beds are firm but not hard, and I slept well each night. The shower had good pressure, though it took a while for the water to heat up. I mostly wanted cold showers to cool off, so I didn't bother with the hot tap. They gave us a reusable water bottle, and there's a water dispenser and microwave in the common area. Our room also had a small fridge. The reception is on the 2nd floor. I think they still call the first floor PB and the second floor the first. There's a small elevator with clearly marked buttons. It's a little slow, but the ride is short. A separate restaurant just outside the PB floor gets loud in the afternoons, but it's usually closed in the evenings. The noise didn't reach our room, even on the main tourist strip.

We felt safe and at home here, with security on site all night. The rooms were clean, with firm beds, and there was cold, refreshing water in the lobby. The staff were kind, respectful, and very accommodating. Since we needed a late checkout for diving, they held our bags until after 7pm and let us change in their staff room. For an off-season stay, it was amazing value. We'd absolutely stay again and will be back.

We had an "Ocean View" room and really liked looking out over the ocean and strip, with people to watch below. You can hear some noise through the balcony doors, but that's to be expected on the strip and it didn't bother us much. The rooms are a little dated, but this is a comfortable, safe place to stay. Tania made check-in easy and was very helpful. We had something important brought up to the room while we were out, and the staff came through for us. I'd recommend it. The ferries, restaurants, and market are all an easy walk away.
