The location was convenient, very close to the square, and the room was simple but fine, like the photos. We asked for no housekeeping, so they didn’t clean during our stay, though they did offer the service. The price was good if you can live with almost no effective air conditioning and a dark lobby and hallway. There was just one small light in the lobby, and it was hard to find your way to the room after dark. The AC was the worst I’ve ever had. A split unit usually cools a tiny room quickly, but even on its lowest setting this one took over an hour before I could feel anything, and it never made the room cool. I came back late one night, about four hours after my roommate, and the room was hotter than the restaurant I’d been at, which had no AC. The owner came out from the back with an attitude when checking us in. Friends had picked us up at the airport and helped carry our bags inside. She snapped, asking who was staying and saying all those people couldn’t stay, even though I’d already told her that my friend and I were checking in before they brought the bags. I usually turn off the AC when I leave, but this unit was so ineffective that we left it running. I’d missed the instruction saying to switch it off or be fined. The owner shut it off from the back, then yelled at us in Spanish. I speak only a little, but understood enough. We apologized and turned everything off, and we weren’t fined. Her attitude alone would keep me from staying here again.

We slept well in a good bed, and there were no bugs, noise, or other problems. The room was relatively clean, though the garden needed attention. We only had one night available, and most guests seemed to be staying long term. The difficult part was arriving. At 4 pm, nobody was there to check us in, the outer door was locked, and there was no phone number on it. We’d been travelling since 2:30 am by airport, bus, ferry, and on foot, so we were quite worried. Luckily, we met a kind man from New York who rents here long term and dives on Cozumel. He had the owner’s number and let us into the hotel with his code. Our room was unlocked and the key was ready, but there was no desk service.

For the price, it’s a clean, comfortable budget stay with nice, helpful staff and a good location. I’d give it five stars if it were a little quieter, but it was Saturday night in Cozumel, so some noise was to be expected. Bring earplugs if you go to bed early. I left my bag there for a tour and expect it’ll still be there when I come back around 2 pm.

The rooms were clean, the staff were helpful and nice, and the price was good. It’s also very close to the sea, ferry, and Oxxo, and there’s hot water. But the place was really loud. A group of Mexicans drank and partied late every day, and cigarette smoke came into our room, so we couldn’t open a window. Nobody on staff did anything about it. We wanted to stay longer but changed hotels because of the noise and smoke. The fan was loud and in bad condition, and the Wi-Fi was poor.

The location is decent, but there are better places to stay. The rooms are small and need work and paint, some outlets don’t work, and the beds aren’t very comfortable. The woman in charge is mean and seems to overcharge for everything, including use of the fridge, sometimes even paper and water, and rooms with AC.
