The warmth of the staff made our first visit to Cozumel especially memorable. Sonya and Hector helped make our stay so lovely, and the place has a welcoming community feel. Tamarindo is peaceful, beautiful and in a great location. We really enjoyed the authentic Mexican breakfasts and the snorkeling and scuba amenities. There are plenty of reasons we’d come back to Cozumel, and staying here is one of them. If you want a relaxing, beautiful place, those five-star reviews are worth heeding.

A few days here left me wishing I could return as soon as I left for Playa Del Carmen. It’s a lovely place run by lovely people, so don’t hesitate to book. I worried at first that it might be awkward for my dive trip because it’s not close to the marina, but getting around turned out to be really easy. There’s a Facebook page where you can request taxis, and they respond quickly and usually pick you up within ten minutes of assigning a driver. They also connected me with other guests diving with Scuba Tony, so we could arrange rides together. I can’t wait to come back 💕

The stay felt personal and sincere, more like a peaceful birthday getaway than just another hotel. The location was ideal for enjoying Cozumel, and I’d happily take a yoga class with Sonia again. Her hospitality really stood out, as did the atmosphere and the staff. Thank you, Sonia and Hector! We’ve visited many times for dive trips, but this was easily our coziest, loveliest stay. I’d gladly return and recommend it to anyone looking for a charming experience.

The welcome handbook was so thoughtfully put together, with detailed recommendations, local tips and practical advice that made getting around Cozumel easy. Housekeeping came daily, and our room was always spotless and well looked after. For a boutique B&B, Tamarindo’s service went beyond what we expected. We stayed three nights over Christmas, and the chef-prepared Mexican breakfasts became a highlight of the trip. He introduced us to traditional dishes, explained their cultural background and asked about our dietary preferences. The fresh fruit cups were a lovely way to start each day, and it felt like we were learning about Mexico through its food. Sonya made us feel welcome from the start. She was warm and genuinely helpful, checked in each day about our plans, and offered thoughtful ideas for activities and dining. She always greeted us with a smile, which made the stay feel personal. We were honestly surprised to hear the owner may be considering selling the property. If we return to Cozumel, we’d stay here again without hesitation.
