We’ve been coming to this hotel for years, so we were really upset by how the staff handled things this time. We were told the beach umbrellas were included for guests, but we were charged for them every day. There were lots of hotel guests, yet umbrellas we’d already paid for were rented to other people, who were friends of receptionist Ceci. They also used the pool and indoor seating, leaving no space for us paying guests. When we called, Ceci said she couldn’t do anything. Two hours later she was on the beach socializing with those people, who weren’t staying at the hotel. On our first day, the cleaning lady was unexpectedly in the room and looking inside my bag. Nothing was missing then, thankfully, but there was no reason to go through our personal things. After we left, I found $150 US missing from my purse. For the price, the room itself was very basic.

Everyone was pleasant and fun to be around, from the family at the front desk to housekeeping and the evening securidad. We had the best experience during our week there, and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend.

The first time we stayed at las Arenas hotel, everything was good and we loved the location. We left a $100dls deposit for the same room the following year. When we returned, they had no record of the reservation or deposit, so we lost the money. We asked to speak to the owners, but they wouldn’t call us. Manager Cecy was rude, even though she was the one who took our deposit the year before. We stayed because we didn’t want to risk not finding another room, but they put us in a more expensive room with a kitchen we didn’t need. We got the cold shoulder all week. We’d planned to make this our yearly destination, but we’ll never stay there again. The staff’s side hustle is making you lose customers. So disappointing.

There’s a major construction project next to the hotel, and it’s extremely noisy. For a quieter stay, ask for an upstairs room, away from the pool noise. The pool is clean and well maintained, and the hotel is right by the ocean in a good location. Front desk staff are family-oriented and very respectful. It’s an honest, clean place, and I highly recommend it. This has been happening during the year since I last came back.
