InterContinental Presidente Monterrey by IHG

The room had a very comfortable bed, quality toiletries, and the hotel’s renovation and facilities were beautiful. It’s an otherwise luxurious place, but communication was a real challenge for me as someone who doesn’t speak Spanish. When I called room service to order dinner on Thanksgiving night, the operator told me, “No, no English,” and I was left without a way to place the order. An English-speaking staff member thankfully called back later and sorted it out. The TV and restaurant menus were all set to Spanish by default, and only one valet attendant spoke English. I expected better support for international guests at a top-tier hotel. There’s a good foundation for a lovely stay, but the language difficulties were more than I’d expected.

It’s in a handy spot, with convenience stores, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance. Everyone we dealt with, from the valet to reception and the servers, was professional, kind, and welcoming. We’ve had an amazing stay at the InterContinental Presidente Monterrey. I’d recommend trying Chapulin while you’re here. The Mexican food has an elevated twist, and we won’t forget it.

The property is beautiful and luxurious, and they’ve paid attention to the details. But the AC is a major letdown in a city as hot as Monterrey. Our room and the rest of the hotel felt uncomfortably warm and almost humid.

A new addition to the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel Chain in Mexico. Beautiful, tasteful modern decor, incredible property, and world-class service. Easily the best hotel in Monterrey.
