The room looked thoughtfully designed and the hotel itself is beautiful, but the service made this stay profoundly disappointing for a property presenting itself as luxury. We found a dirty towel and only decaf coffee pods on arrival. Those were minor compared with what followed. We weren’t offered help with our luggage, then were told to self-park and assured the parking would be complimentary once validated at checkout. That wasn’t true, and we were unexpectedly charged 600 MXN. At checkout there was also an unusually high incidental charge. When we asked why, the staff member casually said, “Oh yeah, I put it high.” The response felt dismissive and uncomfortable, and left us feeling profiled instead of respected. Service at the bar was another problem. With about 45 minutes before closing and guests still dining and drinking, we were told as soon as we sat down that it was closing soon. We could order drinks, but not food. The next night, around 11:00 PM, we tried room service, which was advertised as 24/7. We were told the kitchen was closed. The lobby confirmed it was open, but when we called back, we were told the chef “did not want to take orders.” It felt like a direct refusal. On Christmas morning, the person taking our brunch order was so rude that we canceled. It spoiled what should have been a warm holiday moment. Housekeeping also kept knocking early in the morning even though the door was locked and we clearly didn’t want to be disturbed. When we raised the pattern of problems with management, we got an unenthusiastic apology without meaningful acknowledgment. Their attempt to make it right was 5,000 Marriott points, worth less than $40 USD, which felt dismissive. We work in hospitality ourselves and were genuinely excited to visit. Instead, we felt unwelcome, as though we didn’t belong. That’s unacceptable at any hotel, especially one branded as luxury. Nearby Tim Hortons ironically gave us warmer, more consistent service. Luxury takes care, consistency, and respect, and we didn’t experience any of those here.

We had the Christmas Eve buffet, which cost 1800 pesos per person, and the food at this upscale hotel was very good. Around Christmas and New Year’s Eve, be aware that lots of restaurants may be closed.

The hotel’s lobby and architecture are beautiful, with refined interiors and warm indirect lighting. The executive lounge was a nice perk through my dad’s Marriott status, with unlimited food and drinks. It’s more like a snack bar than a full meal, but the quality was good. I booked a standard room for four people and stayed during the last week of July 2025. The room’s bathroom door wouldn’t latch, so it couldn’t be locked. The rest of the stay was frustrating, especially in the common areas. I’m 20 but look younger, and the repeated questioning made me feel scrutinized rather than welcome. One evening around 7 PM, I was on the terrace with a friend from Monterrey. I live in another city and don’t see her often, so we were catching up in a spacious area with lots of chairs and little lounge setups. Our seats had no cushions, and I never saw any put out during the day, even though the weather was fine. A staff member asked for my guest card in front of my friend while I was trying to show her I had access through my dad. It was awkward and embarrassing, as if they doubted I belonged in a space we’d paid for. On Saturday around 8:30 PM, my friend and I were talking quietly beneath a palapa near the pool when we were told to leave because an event was supposedly happening there. I understand closing the pool for safety or setup, but we weren’t swimming or disturbing anyone. The terrace had room for everyone, and the setup wasn’t near us, so I didn’t understand why they insisted we go. Then on my last night, Sunday, I returned to the terrace around 11 PM to enjoy the view. There were no events and hardly anyone around, but within minutes a person who seemed to be hotel security, dressed in a black suit, told me I couldn’t stay. I was alone in a quiet, empty space, yet again felt as if I’d done something wrong. Staff were constantly walking past us, even in secluded spots. It created an odd feeling of being watched suspiciously, not attentively. I think a hotel in this category should allow guests to bring respectful friends into public areas, even if they aren’t registered guests. Instead, normal freedom felt unnecessarily restricted. I understand the need for security, but this felt excessive. I couldn’t comfortably use cushioned seats, which weren’t even out all day, or enjoy shared spaces without being questioned or asked to leave. The hotel is lovely, and the lobby and executive lounge are excellent, but this treatment left me disappointed and frustrated. I hope the hotel reconsiders its policies and staff training so younger guests can feel relaxed and welcome instead of scrutinized.

Loved it!! Best stay ever. The food, staff, location, and room were all fantastic!

I’ve stayed here twice now, and the second visit was even better. As a Platinum member, I was surprised they honored my status with breakfast for two, lounge access, and a room upgrade. The breakfast selection is really good, and I always get the crispy barbacoa tacos. The location is prime, just steps from major restaurants and shopping. Parking is the one confusing part. For a short stay, say 1-2 hours, pay at the machine by the elevator. If you’re overnighting, take your ticket to the front desk and pay the flat 150 pesos for the night. It’s better than paying by the hour. Great stay overall, one of the best hotels in Monterrey/San Pedro.
