There’s no internet in the rooms, only at reception, and the place was dimly lit and smelled damp. The elevator wasn’t working and there was no running water. Worst of all, the place is infested with BEDBUGS. Staff know about it but don’t do anything, just saying, “yeah we know some rooms have bedbugs.” They didn’t refund me for the inconvenience. It felt like they just took my money and left me at risk. This is the opposite of what they advertise.

Update: I’ve heard the bedbug situation has become bad. I never had bedbugs during my stays, but I take the other reviews seriously and don’t stay here anymore. Water outages also seem to have gotten worse, and apparently the current owners aren’t maintaining the place. For years, I used to stay here for a week at a time, twice a year. It’s run down, but you get a bed and a warm bath, and I didn’t have anything to complain about. Roaches once got into my leftover pan dulce, but they spray regularly, unlike in the US, so I rarely had problems. It could get noisy when other guests were careless, and I’d avoid a room facing the street. A noisy truck comes several times a week to fill the pool across the street. There were occasional elevator problems and water outages in the past, too. You get what you pay for. It’s inexpensive and conveniently located near the art park and Reforma Metrobus station, and the restaurant is cheap and filling.

The location is great, and the restaurant manager is very nice with good food. The rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh towels, but for a few more pesos I’d stay somewhere else. The remodeled room seemed hastily fixed: the Wi-Fi was awful, the outlets were loose and the TV barely got a signal. The shower water was hot in the superior room, but you have to point the showerhead at the wall or you’ll step straight into a puddle. The front desk staff were rude. I paid for a superior room and they tried to put me in one of two roach rooms. The housekeeping manager spent at least an hour gossiping about guests with the front desk woman. They require you to leave your key when you go out, which felt sketchy. When we returned, they didn’t check that we were in the right room. They confirmed it only once during my ten days there. We were away for three days and someone went through our things. The housekeepers were rude as well.

Avoid this place. It’s so badly infested with bedbugs that they show up even in the daytime. Staff are extremely rude and won’t give your money back. They’re taking your money while putting your health at risk.
