There was poop on the toilet seat, and the bathroom was dirty from the previous guests. Things had been left behind, there were spiders and webs on the walls and in the corners, and the bathroom smelled like sewer. The doors and the windows in them had big gaps that let insects in. I’d avoid this place at all costs. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
We had the family room, and the price is way too high for its quality. The bathroom smelled really bad the whole time, maybe a plumbing problem. The beds were dirty and the blankets stank. Do yourself a favor and skip this stinky place. Check other hotels before you arrive in San Sebastian. Awful experience at this hostel.
I only spent one night here, but I was already in love with the place. It was the only spot in town that let me stay with my dog. The owner and his daughter, I think, were really friendly and even chatted with me at night. I also got the nice double room for half price since I was traveling alone.
The towels and sheets were old, and the hygiene was suboptimal. The main problem, though, was being woken up at 2 a.m. by the owners, or maybe their friends, who clearly knew each other, having a party with the lights on and music playing. It went on until 3:30, and we couldn’t sleep during that time. It showed how little respect they had for the guests. If you want a proper night's sleep, I’d avoid Hotel Cervantes.
Right off the square, in a quaint spot. The beds were uncomfortable, so it was just a place to shower and move on. I’d spend a bit more for a better night’s sleep.
